Aevum Trio

A new ensemble formed by three talented musicians currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama

The trio has been recently focusing their work on composers from across Europe and twentieth century music, engaging deeply into the rich repertoire for clarinet, violin, and piano.  From the start of their journey, the Aevum Trio felt an instant connection, united by a shared ambition to build a future together as an ensemble.

 

Hailing from three different countries, each musician brings distinct influences from their cultural backgrounds and musical training. This vibrant blend of cultures enriches their collaboration, resulting in a fresh and original approach to their musical interpretations.

Biography

Margot Maurel

 

Originally from France, Margot Maurel, 22 years old, graduated from the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin with first class honors last June. She is now finishing her education at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, completing a Master of Performance in clarinet. Margot has played in various ensembles around Ireland, France and the UK. Her most recent work includes playing in the Guildhall Symphonic Orchestra, having her solo debut with the RTE Concert Orchestra in Dublin and playing the Mozart Clarinet Concerto in the National Concert Hall, Dublin.

Some of her notable awards include the 2023 Jago Bursary and McCullough Cup in the Feis Ceoil competition. Margot has a passion for chamber music and has been involved in many groups and performances, including the ChamberFest Dublin Festival many times as part of wind quintets or clarinet trios.

 

 

Teresa Wiczkowska

 

Teresa Wiczkowska is a 22 years old polish violinist who has recently graduated with honors from the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow, currently pursuing a Master of Performance in violin in Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

She is the winner of numerous, both solo and chamber music competitions. Her recent achievements include 1st prizes in King’s Peak International Music Competition in the USA and in the Medici International Music Competition and XIV Concorso Musicale Città di Filadelfia in Italy.

During her musical journey, Teresa has played in many various ensembles, such as string quartets, piano trios, and string duos, as well as chamber and symphony orchestras around the world. She performed, among others, in Poland, UK, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Norway, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Serbia, North Macedonia and Ukraine. Teresa enjoys collaborating with eminent artists and performing chamber music in concerts and festivals, such as “A Due” festival in Poland. It is mainly with chamber music that Teresa wants to link her future musical career.

 

Ling Feng

 

Ling is an 24 years old accomplished classical pianist whose talent and dedication have led to performances across China and beyond. Her captivating solo recitals in cities like Beijing, Nanjing, and Jiangsu have garnered her a loyal following, and her appearances on China’s national program “Sound of Music” showcased her artistry to a broader audience.  With a long-term contract secured at the Xuzhou City Concert Hall, Ling has solidified her place in China’s classical music scene.  Now, as she begins her Master of Performance at Guildhall, she’s ready to share her musical voice and pursue prestigious competitions worldwide.
